Packaging Tips for your shipments return trip:
1) Ensuring the Box is Ready for TransitOur packing boxes go through a lot during transit. From trolley, to truck, to airplanes, to your front door. Because of this handling, boxes may not be strong enough to be used for another transit. If you are returning smaller items, you may want to place in a new box for shipment back to us. If you have an odd or large size item to ship back and need to use the original box we sent to you, make sure to properly protect the item before shipping.
2) Stuff the Box with Packing Materials
Make sure items are not loose in box, and have enough packing material to keep items from shifting during shipment. It is a good idea to reinforce corners of items with bubble wrap, Styrofoam or packing paper, to make sure they are not bent during shipment. This includes wrapping and taping all sharp or protruding edges. We suggest you adding additional packing material from the original shipment, because packing peanuts and paper can loose structural integrity after shipping.
3) Seal Up
When your box is properly packaged up, apply at least three strips of packing tape (not duct or masking tape) across all flaps and seams, top and bottom. It is recommended to use packing tape that is at least 2 inches wide.
4) Shipping Carrier Tips
Shipping insurance is always recommended when shipping packages back to us. Installerstore is not responsible for returns damaged in shipment. Keep the tracking number for your records. Your refund will be in the form of your original payment (on the same method as the original purchase). Shipping costs on the original order or the return shipment cost will not be refunded.
If you are unsure how to ship an item back and require assistance, FedEx or Postal locations do have packing materials for purchase and can assist you in properly shipping items back.
